Get fit to hit the slopes

 Snow Fitness 2015

If you’re planning a skiing or snowboarding trip over the next few months, it’s a good idea to prepare for it as thoroughly as you can.

Getting ready for a winter sports holiday shouldn’t be all about having the latest kit.

New skis, boards, boots, bindings, outfits and accessories are all good, but what’s more important is that you invest in being physically prepared for the slopes.

The stronger and fitter you are before your holiday, the more you’ll enjoy it.

Here are just a few benefits of being in better shape for winter sports:

  • You’ll be able to ski or board for longer before your legs turn to jelly.

  • Your technique will improve faster.

  • You’ll be less tired in the evenings and better able to enjoy the social side of your trip.

  • You’ll recover faster and minimise that feeling of not wanting, or being able to get out of bed in the mornings.

  • You’ll reduce the chances of a pull, sprain, or worse injury.

Our Snow Fitness classes take place at Billington & Langho Community Centre on Tuesday evenings (starting November 17th).
